Weekly Obsession, velvet slipper shoes

The above JCrew velvet slipper shoes are around $400.  I can not see myself spending that much on a pair of flats, so I decided to try to make some myself.  My first DIY project in a long time.  I am not one to make things myself.  I usually just buy things already done...you're welcome!!!  Here's how it went and it was pretty easy.  First, I got the velvet shoes off of HauteLook for around $20.  I then bought the iron on decals at JoAnn Fabrics for around $10.  Wow, $30 for a pair of shoes that I feel resemble the ones at JCrew.  I guess sometimes it is worth it to make your own.  I just saved $370.  Awesome!!!

Does the towel keep the material from burning?

Yep! Helps to protect it just in case.
